COGNITIVE VISIT TO THE MONUMENT TERRITORIES OF MEGHRI

By the initiative of NCSO’s Syuniq regional service, cognitive excursion was organized for Agarak’s secondary school pupils in the monument territories of Meghri. Before that, Naira Nahapetyan the deputy director of the regional service presented an enthnographic collection dating back to the 19-20th centuries, which tells about the architectural structure of Meghri, and the lifestyle of the city.

The cognitive excursion continued in the territory of Holy Astvatsatsin church, where priest Rafayel Khachikyan joined them. He talked about the history of fresco and church holidays.

Pupils visited Holy Hovhannes church rich with valuable frescos located in the north western side of the city. They got acquainted with the history of the monument as well as the archaeological excavations carried out in the territory of the monument.
