As a result of cooperation of Regional Service of Aragatsotn Service for the Protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Museum Reservations, NCSO and Police Enforcement of Aragatsotn, Arman Hovhannisyan and Nver Zakharyan (residents of Kotayk Region) were arrested by police at the moment of plundering on the territory of «Akhtamir Castle Complex» /state index 2.87.1/. The monument is included in the list of state property and is not subject to alienation.
The Regional Service of Aragatsotn earlier appealed to the police requesting to prevent such incidents.
After a little while the employees of Regional Service and the police will carry out examination on the territory of the monument. The most detailed information on the website will be posted later.
P.S. An incident of plundering on the territory of this monument was also recorded in 2009. It was prevented by the guard of the monument. The plunderer was later sentenced on prison and soon released from prison under an amnesty law.
