In the “Protection Service” NCSO the results of 2017’s first semester have been summarized. The responsibles of the regional services, reservations and museum-reserves presented their reports. They discussed the problems concerning the protection of monuments, particularly the absence of monuments’ protection zones, problems arising because of inaccuracies and the cooperation with local self-government bodies.

“Despite the inaccuracies in the protection zones of the monuments, we should be more attentive to the problems concerning protection, inform the directorate of NCSO and actively cooperate with law enforcement bodies”, mentioned NCSO’s deputy director Karen Pahlevanyan in his speech.

The president of the committee accepting the reportings also talked about the tours implemented by the guards of the monuments.

Some reservations and museum-reserves of NCSO need renovations of lavatories, roads and the like. The directorate of NCSO assured that in the nearest future they will find a solution to that problem. The expediency of creating a ticket economy in some of them has also been discussed.

Ara Tarverdyan, the director of NCSO assigned to take active steps in leading the tourists to monuments. He suggested making up each region’s tourist route, which will include from which monument the excursion should get started and how to lead the tourist wishing to see Armenia. In Ara Tarverdyan’s words tourists should be given the opportunity to see and get a full conception about the most important historical-cultural monuments of the region.

The committee also listened to the reportings of the departments of NCSO. Research works, exhibitions, delinquencies reported in the territories of monuments and their legal process have also been presented.

Summing up the works implemented in the first semester of 2017, the directorate of NCSO gave exact assignments for correcting the existing shortcomings and adopting new working principles. The committee will introduce the marks of the works to the confirmation of the director of NCSO.
