On July 8, “Garni” historical-cultural museum-reserve invites everyone to celebrate Vardavar together. On that day the entry to the museum-reserve will be free from 10:00 to 18:00. The visitors will have the opportunity to take part in the traditional ceremony of sprinkling water on each other near the entrance of “Garni” museum-reserve.
The history of Vardavar feast dates back to the pagan period. In ancient times it was connected to the goddess of water, love, fertility and beauty Astghik. The tradition of sprinkling water on each other has been saved in our days as well.
