The sculptures “Echo” (sculptor Khachatur Hakobyan) and “Ribbon of Infinity” (David Bedzhanyan), which are located on the Yerevan-Sevan highway, were repeatedly vandalized.
To protect the restored sculptures, security systems will be installed on their territory.
The sculpture “Renaissance” (Khachik Miridzhanyan), which is located at the entrance to the city of Charentsavan and is better known among the people as the “Monument to the Curly Boy” (in honor of the poem by the poet Yeghishe Charents), will be repaired and restored.
Armen Hovhannisyan, the director of “Service for the Protection of Historical Environment and Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserves” SNCO and Harutyun Vanyan, head of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, toured Kotayk and got acquainted with the state of three monuments.
They discussed the restoration and repair works of the monuments, as well as the installation of the necessary protection systems.
The restoration work of the “Renaissance” sculpture was also discussed with the employees of the Charentsavan municipality.
