SIX ISSUES DISCUSSED IN THE MEETING OF THE METHODOLOGICAL COUNCIL OF THE NCSO (NON COMMERCIAL STATE ORGANIZATION)

On June 16 Conference of the Methodological Council of “Service for the Protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Museum Reservations” was held which was chaired by deputy director Ashot Piliposyan (doctor-professor of historical sciences). 17 out of 22 members of the Councils took part in the Conference. During the Conference there were discussed six issues. The development concepts 2015-2018 and unified strategy programs of the NCSO branches as well as the project of the strategy for the development of the «Service for the Protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Museum-Reservations» were approved. Presenting the strategy for the development of the «Cultural Museum Reservations» David Poghosyan (Lecturer of ASPU, member of ICOM National Committee of Armenia) noticed that the close relationship with RF institute named after Likhochov played a great role for the development of the document. The speaker stressed the importance of the publication strategy, which would help «Cultural Museum Reservations» to organize the activities properly. According to A. Philiposyan the strategy presented by D. Poghosyan had been approved by ICOM National Committee.

There was also discussed the issue of ensuring the publication of the methodological manual «Excursion basics» authored by Liana Gevorgyan (NCSO deputy director) and Alvard Grigoryan (ASPU museum director). The manual consists of 10 chapters (each has 3-4 subsections). It is designed for museum professionals and for students studying tourism. It was decided to present the manual to the experts of the ASPU after the final editorial works.

The Methodological Council also approved the publication of the book «My Memories” by Ado and the republishing of the work «Red Book» by Grigor Chalkhushyan dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide which had been published in Doni-Rostov in 1919. There was also discussed the publishing of the collection «History and Archaeology outlines of old Yerevan» by Frina Babayan (chief researcher of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography, Candidate of Historical Sciences). During the discussion it was decided to rename the collection «History and Archeology of old Yerevan».
