“Protection service\u201d NCSO`s employees of regional service of Shirak on April 24 payed tribute to the innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide and lied flowers at the monument erected in Herher or Jarder. Head of the Regional Service Velerik Nazaretyan presented the cross-stone monument`s history, spoke about the place of the monument and telling about it`s importance added. “Never has forgotten what happened, because the facts that prove this crime are clear and very severe, to show them not only photos and eyewitness accounts, as well as from 1965 items discovered during construction work, clothing cufflinks and even a skull in nailed bullets. ”<\/p>\n
Within the framework of Monuments and Sites Day, April 18 and 102th anniversary of Armenian Genocide, Shirak`s regional office, in cooperation with Center’s exhibitions department, at high school in Sarnaghbyur community on April 25 organized an exhibition entitled “Ageless Memory” which was dedicated to the Holy Cross Church. Photo exhibition “Ageless Memory” includes early architectural character of St.Khach church. Archival photographs and drawings were presented that are preserved in the funds of ” Service for Historical Environment and Cultural Museum- Reservations” NCSO. The photos tell the miniature art of the period, which was inspired by Vaspurakan School. The aim of the exhibition was to represent St. Akhtamar church as part of a unique architectural monument of Medieval Armenia and part of world cultural heritage. During the exhibition, delivered cognitive-informational report researcher of Shirak`s regional service Anoushik Borakyan. She spoke about the location of St. Akhtamar church, construction history, architectural feature, the master-builder of the temple, exterior and interior walls, fresco paintings, sculptures and their significance.<\/p>\n
