The library of the \u201cProtection Service\u201d NCSO was opened in 1992. In 1992 Armenian revival project institute\u2019s and in 1997 the collection of \u201cZvartnoc\u201d historical-cultural museum-reserve\u2019s libraries were added to the rich library of the Protection Service\u2019s main administration. This is how the library of NCSO was formed.<\/p>\n
In general there are 7400 books in the library, and mainly about archaeology, architecture, history, culture, photographic exclusive albums and other books about different branches of art.<\/p>\n
Tsaghik Hambardzumyan is the old inhabitant of this rich and valuable library. The experience of the librarian began in 1983, from 1992 she works in the library of NCSO, at first as a librarian, with the right of a director and then as a librarian. Even it is unbelievable, but she knows the contents of all 7000 books. <\/p>\n
\u201cOur library is the richest library of this sphere, and not only due to the number but also the content of books. We have got a really wonderful collection, not only vocational but also ancient types of books published in Venice a included in it\u201d, she mentioned.<\/p>\n
The 25 years old collection begins with Miqayel Chamchyan\u2019s \u201cHistory of Armenia\u201d published in Venice in 1784,85,86. The book was published more than two centuries ago , during that period Armenian historiography has developed enormously , but Chamchyan\u2019s heritage has its\u2019 unique place and is very valuable for the researchers of the Armenian history.<\/p>\n
In 1985 on the occasion of the book\u2019s 200-anniversary, it was republished in Yerevan, but the ancient ones are preserved in the library. Those are not the only valuable books though, the publications of Venice are followed by the ones published in Jerusalem, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Tbilisi, Constantinople and other cities having major printing-houses.<\/p>\n
The list of valuable books is enormous, but the experienced librarian advices to get acquainted with them as more figurative than the books can present themselves is next to impossible. In the last years the library has enriched its\u2019 collection due to the vocational literature published in Armenia and acquired by NCSO.<\/p>\n
