Hripsime Harutyunyan and Ashot Aslanyan, board members of \u201cBnorran\u201d NGO were hosted today at the Service for the Prevention of Historical Environment and Cultural Museum-Reservations, SNCO.<\/p>\n
During the meeting with the head of the organization Ara Tarverdyan, which was also attended by SNCO scientific secretary, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Ashot Piliposyan, issues related to potential development programs of museum-reserves of the SNCO were discussed.<\/p>\n
Representatives of the \u201cBnorran\u201d NGO expressed their views on creating more attractive conditions for tourists in the territories of monuments.<\/p>\n
The cooperation between \u201cBnorran\u201d NGO and “Preservation Service” SNCO began at the end of last year, following publications in the press about “Zorats Karer” archeological site. Members of the \u201cSave Karahunj\u201d initiative have voiced the disappearance of \u201cabout 35 menhirs” from the territory of the monument.<\/p>\n
Board administrations of \u201cBnorran\u201d NGO and \u201cPreservation Service\u201d SNCO (December 2, 2019) have signed a Protocol of understanding, which states the commitment of both sides to actively participate in the clarification and investigation of the issue, as well as to present facts and conclusions to the public.<\/p>\n
In order to organize an impartial, transparent, and objective work, the parties also decided to form an independent and representative commission. Hripsime Harutyunyan, board member of “Bnorran” NGO, informed that the deadline for submitting applications has been extended until February 20 of this year. The visit to the monument site was delayed due to adverse weather conditions.<\/p>\n
Ashot Piliposyan, head of expedition, in his turn, suggested that a public group be formed to work with archaeologists on the territory of the monument.<\/p>\n
SNCO board administration and NGO representatives also discussed other issues related to “Zorats Karer” residence historical-cultural reserve.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
