In the everyday life of the Armenian people, various items made of carpets were very popular such as saddlebags, salt sacks, sleeping bags, and horsecloths (caparisons). In the fabric collection of the \u201cProtection Service\u201d SNCO there are presented many examples the most significant of which is the horsecloth (caparison). It is a square carpet with elongated appendages from both sides which are detached from the base. The horsecloth (caparison) was woven with the \u201cshulal\u201d technique. It is made of white cotton thread and is decorated with animal, vegetal and geometric figures of multi-colored woolen threads.<\/p>\n
