“THE EUROPEAN HERITAGE DAYS” IN VAYOTS DZOR

On the initiative head of the Regional Service PHE of Vayots Dzor Melanya Dovlatyan the employees of the Regional Service PHE of Vayots Dzor in the Regional administration of the region as part of “European Heritage Days” hosted a meeting entitled “Heritage and communities”. The employees of the regional service of the “Gladzor University” Historical-Cultural Museum-Reservation and “Arpi” Natural-Historical Reservation were hosted by the governor of Vayots Dzor Harutyun Sargsyan. Speaking about the cultural heritage conservation, care provided by the community, as well as the cooperation with them Melanya Dovlatyan assured that the protection of the cultural heritage is in caring hands. She said that each keeper of monument is devoted to his job despite all the difficulties. The governor underlined that Vayots Dzor Region is rich in historical and cultural heritage of valuable jewels and expressed his willingness to solve every problem in the preservation of monuments. At the end head of the regional Service PHE of Vayots Dzor Melanya Dovlatyan presented the governor of Vayots Dzor Harutyun Sargsyan the Tom “St. Gregory the Illuminator church complex (Tigran Honentsi) of Ani” by Toros Toromanyan from the series of “Armenian cultural heritage documents”. Another event dedicated to “European Heritage Days” was held in “Gladzor University” Historical-Cultural Museum-Reservation.

The regional Service PHE of Vayots Dzor together with “Arpi” Natural-Historical Reservation and “Gladzor University” Historical-Cultural Museum-Reservation as part of “Heritage and Community” program organized a photo exhibition called “RA Vayots Dzor Region and province of Atrpatakan or the Islamic Republic of Iran: sister communities and new achievements”. Head of the “Gladzor University” Historical-Cultural Museum-Reservation Boris Kocharyan gave a report on Armenian – Iranian friendship for the participants. The event was attended by students and teachers of Areni and Vernashen communities. Students after the report recited poems and quartets of Armenian and Iranian writers, such as N. Kuchak, Frik, Narek, Ferdowsi and Omar Khayyam. The event was accompanied by the songs of Lusine Zakaryan.
