“Protection Service” NCSO`s head of research department Karine Bazeyan recently participated in internbational conference titled ” Archeology and ethnography in Caucasus and Crimea” held in Sakt Petersburg. The three-day international conference was held on the initiative of the Department of Archeology and Ethnography Department of the University of St. Petersburg, is dedicated to 80th anniversary of the long-time head of scientific activities Alexander Gadloy. The conference was attended by representatives of the CIS countries. During the report titled “Russian trace on Armenian culture in Alexandrapol” Karine Bazeyan refered to Alexandrapol Russian cultural`s influence on Alexandrapol, spoke about construction, architecture and spiritual culture, economy, clothing, housing problems, interior decoration, etc. The report made more interesting the spectral screening.

“Archeology and ethnography of the Caucasus and Crimea” all the reports of the international conference will be published in a handbook. At the end of a small group visited the tomb of Alexander Gadloy. Karine Bazeyan during the three-day visit was also in Sankt Petersburg ethnographic museums.

With the invitation of State university of Batumi, Shota Rustaveli a leading researcher in the Department, anthropologist Hasmik Simonyan participated in the “Anatolian rivers between East and West was held in Batumi. Hasmik Simonyan as the only anthropologist on the theme “Between the rivers and the mountains beyond. During the workshop, participants visited archaeological monuments, national parks, rivers and valleys. Visits were made to Jorokh river valley, the barge travelled from Lake Paliostomi as Pichori River.

During the workshop discussed ways of cooperation. Mustafa Kemal University`s professor Haticha Pamire proposed to implement the exchange program material. In addition, a wide range of cooperation can be developed between the Armenian and Georgian archaeologists. Batumi University, which often organizes such international seminars, offered to Armenian archeologists to participati in the upcoming meetings.

Deputy Director of Department Karen Pahlevanyan thanked Bazeyan Karine and Hasmik Simonyan, the presenting materials in interesting way during the conferences.
