THE COLLECTION OF YEGHEGNADZOR’S GEOLOGICAL MUSEUM HAS BEEN PRESENTED

By the efforts of NCSO’s Vayoc dzor regional service and “Gladzor university” historical-cultural museum-reserve “Old and new medieval finds of Vayoc dzor” event was organized in the Youth center of Yeghegnadzor. It was held with the participation of Yeghegnadzor region’s state college students.

Baris Kocharyan, the head of “Gladzor university” historical-cultural museum-reserve also delivered a speech. Melanyan Dovlatyan, the head of NCSO’s Vayoc dzor regional service mentioned that Vayoc dzor is a museum under the open sky, the vivid expression of which is the rich collection of Yeghegnadzor’s geological museum in which objects found not only from excavations but also during constructing and agricultural works are included.

The employees of NCSO’s Vayoc dzor regional service, more than 40 students, teachers had the opportunity to get acquainted with the museum’s rich collection. Objects made of clay excavated from the territory of Vayoc dzor (10-17th centuries), decanter found from the ruins of Eghegis (10-11th centuries), milk-pot (13-14th centuries), water supply pipe found from the excavations of Hostun (13-14th centuries), tray  (13-14th centuries), jug found from Gladzor village (12-13th centuries), censer found from the territory of Arkaz’s St. Cross church (11-12th centuries), bast shoe found from one of the caves of Vayoc dzor (17th century), pipe found from Yeghegnadzor’s territory (15-17th century), glazed plate (12-13th centuries) and others were presented,

Karine Stepanyan the employee of Yeghegnadzor’s geological museum and NCSO’s Vayoc dzor regional service’s head Melanya Dovlatyan discussed the historical-cultural significance of the objects, detailed interesting information.
