19 PUBLICATIONS RELATING TO CULTURAL HERITAGE

On October 30, 2015 presentation of the published books and maps of NCSO «Service for the protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Museum Reservation» was held at the Union of Architects of Armenia. With the assistance of NSCO «Service for the Protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Museum Reservation» there were published 19 books.

Special thanks to Ashot Piliposyan (a deputy in the field of scientific activities) for his efforts. «Three works of our scientific council members were published for the first time»- said NCSO director Vladimir Poghosyan.

The «Red Book» by Grigor Chalxushyan which is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide is republished. The book «Outline of ancient history and archaeology of Old Yerevan» by Frina Babayan and Aghavni Zhamkochyan presents issues of history and archaeology of Armenia (16-18th centuries). The book is based on archaeological material founded in 2003. In his book “My Memories» A-Do (historian, economist and statistician) wrote his memories. But the work has remained unpublished since the late 1940s. The autobiographical book which is published for the first time represents the tragic and heroic events that took place in 1880-1920 in Armenia.

During the event director of NCSO handed souvenir to Professor Nikolay Hovhannisyan (Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Historical Sciences).

Nikolay Hovhannisyan who wrote the prologue of the book «Red Book» said that this book seemed to be a cult for Armenians. According to Amatuni Virabyan (director of the National Archives of Armenia) NCSO «Service for the protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Museum Reservation» offers interesting scientific research. Murad Asatryan (Member of the National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Historical Sciences, doctor of Architecture) referred to Toros Toramanyan whose archives are stored in the archives of NCSO.

Tigran Zargaryan (director of The National Library of Armenia) expressed his willingness to store published literature in a library database. Director of the National Archives of Armenia awarded Vladimir Poghosyan (NCSO director) with «Hakob Meghapart» Medal. There was also opened an exhibition of monumental glass painting by Aram Vruyr in the lobby of the Union of Architects.
