Toros Toramanian
“Service for Protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Museum-Reservations” NCSO has published 4th form of T.Toramanyan`s “ Monument`s of Ani`s Acropolis” trilingual / Armenian, Russian, English/ book, which is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Armenian Genocide.
Part of the archive of founder of the scientific study of architecture Toros Toramanyan is kept at NCSO. In 1999 it became the property of the church by the efforts of cultural figure, Archbishop Mesrop Ashchian .
The “Armenian historical documents” is the 5th publication from the series. In the form are presented monuments in the citadel of the city of Ani, studies by Toramanyan, measurements and photo shoot. Monuments in the capital of historical Ani are presented. The remaining part of the measurements of Toramanyan 23 sheets / bulk Draft /. 17 of them were published for the first time. Th. Toramanyan measurements of the monuments probably would have done during 1907-1908 period, when the St. Petersburg Imperial archaeological expedition started excavations in Ani fortress.
