Due to the joint efforts of NCSO’s Ararat regional service and NCSO’s department of organizing exhibitions, an exhibition of photos of more than four dozen monuments in Western Armenia has been opened. The pupils of Sisavan schools’ upper classes, teachers took part in the event.
Roman Karapetyan the head of the regional service welcomed the presents and told about the historical-architectural heritage of Armenians. He also mentioned about the recorded condition of the reserved monuments in Western Armenia. Afterwards the deputy director Anahit Dallakyan read a lecture “Witnesses of memory”, during which she also presented the monuments of Western Armenia, coming on to their number during First world war and their condition of reservation, then their destruction during genocide and their present condition.
The exhibition telling about the architectural monuments of Western Armenia will continue three more weeks. During that period the lessons of “The history of Armenian nation” and “The history of Armenian church” will be held in the exhibition hall, so that all pupils will have the opportunity to see the photos of the monuments.
