SCIENTIFIC TOURISM IN SOUTHWEST ASIA

On 16 March, 2016 at the Armenian Institute of Tourism was held a seminar discussion entitled «Scientific Tourism in Southwest Asia”|. The aim of this project was to bring together around this promising intention interested organizations and academic institutions. Among the participants were different research institutions, tourism organizations as well as representatives of state structures. The welcoming speeches were made by Robert Minasyan Rector of the Armenian Institute of Tourism, Head of the Tourism Department of the RA Ministry of Economy Mekhak Apresyan and Atom Mkhitaryan Deputy Chairman at Supreme Certifying Commission of Armenia. This professional event was organized by the Armenian Institute of Tourism, Armenian Institute of Astronomy and the South West Asian Regional Office of the International Astronomical Union. The main presentations were related to the concept of “Scientific Tourism».

«Service for the Protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Museum Reservation», NCSO was also invited to this scientific meeting. During the discussion David Poghosyan (senior researcher, candidate of pedagogical sciences) presented the structure of NCSO and its tourism opportunities as well as the scientific activities and strategic approaches of the organization. NCSO offered cooperation within the framework of this important tourism activity. The professionals in the tourism industry decided to include in the scheduled visits «Metsamor historical-archaeological museum-reserve» and «Historical and cultural preservation Zorats Qarer Settlement» which are branches of «Service for the Protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Museum Reservation», NCSO.
