On the initiative of the Shirak Center for Armenian Studies of NAS RA the 9th “International Conference on current problems of Armenology” which was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s independence was held in Gyumri. The conference was attended by various institutes, universities, museums and other institutes of the National Academy of Sciences, there were also scientists from Poland, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia. This year there were presented not only the rich ethnography of Shirak, the folklore, history, crafts and arts, research, but also current issues of Armenian Studies. It is noteworthy that scientists from other countries made reports on the role of Armenians in different countries.
During the international conference reports were made by the deputy director on scientific affairs, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Piliposyan of the “Service for the Protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Museum-Reservations” NCSO (“Spandaryan Iron Age Burial Complex”), the vice director of the stock Lianna Gevorgyan (“Ethnography outdoor museums formation of social and economic reasons” and head of the research department Karine Bazeyan (“Forms and modes of socialization of children in Aleksandrapol “).
