EXPEDITION TO HAVUC TAR, GARNI BRIDGE AND “GARNI GORGE”

Within the framework of “Heritage and nature” events by the initiative of “Garni” historical-cultural museum-reserve an expedition was organized in the territories of one of the most significant religious and cultural centers of Medieval Armenia Havuc tar monastic complex, “Garni gorge” monument and “Garni bridge” built in 10-13 centuries. A group of Garni community’s N 2 high school’s pupils joined to the expedition. They were accompanied by the employees of the museum-reserve and teachers.

In the territory of Havuc tar pupils got acquainted with the monuments of the monastic complex and their educational and spiritual significance. “Garni Gorge” is often understood as a span of a man’s architectural mind, all pupils’ questions referred to the interesting form and arrangement of stones of the natural monument.

They also learnt that a few centuries ago the bridge was built to connect Syuniq and Ararat plain.
