SNCO’s archeology stock was replenished with 920 archaeological items during last year

A number of items discovered on the territories of monuments as a result of excavation works carried out by archeologist Emma Khanzadyan, are being kept at primary stocks of the Service for the Protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Museum-Reservations, SNCO. Our staff members periodically separate, sort, clean up, and hand the items for preservation to the archeological stock.

Last year, as a result of all the work carried out by Sona Petrosyan, staff member of SNCO stock maintainance and accounting department, the archeological stock was replenished with 250 items. Those are materials found during excavations carried out by archaeologist Emma Khanzadyan at Lchap Blur(hill) archeological monument in 1975. The stock was replenished with one gold earring (found by accident at Hatsarat archeological monument during construction works in 2016)

As a result of all the work carried out by Lusine Aleksanyan, preliminary stock staff member, the stock was replenished with 171 archeological items discovered by archeologist Ashot Piliposyan during excavations at Zorats Karer thomb hill N 1 of Zorats Karer archeological site. In addition, the stock was replenished with 30 more archeological items discovered in 2016 during construction works at Hatsarat archeological site, 18 archeological items found during earthen works at Srashen in 2019, 200 and 250 archeological items excavated from Jrahovit archeological site in 1983 (archeologist E. Khanzadyan).

In total, during 2019 the archeological stock was replenished with 920 items.
