In 2022 with the permission of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport strengthening and renovating activities of the great cathedral of Church Katoghike of Talin (a town in Aragatsotn region) have started.
Before starting the restoration works the initiators – benefactors Vahe and Vigen Badalyans got professional advice on the conservation of the frescos preserved in the church. They cooperated both with Armenian restorers of frescos and experts invited from Romania and Russia whose observational studies and professional opinions will be decisive in the restoration work. The scientific project documents for the strengthening of the cathedral were ordered and according to the established procedure presented to the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport for approval as early as 2021.
During the 4th session of the scientific-methodological council attached to the Ministry held on June 4, 2021, the sketch project of the monument (author: architect- restorer Hovhannes Sanamyan) was discussed and approved.
The restoration works along with the conservation of the frescos are planned to be accomplished in 2024․
