On October 24, member states of the UN will join to celebrate a global event to turn world «UN blue» to mark 70th anniversary of The United Nations. In the evening, the world’s most spectacular monuments, buildings, bridges and other memorable buildings will be illuminated in blue light. It will emphasize the relationship between UN member states, as well as has peace, development and human rights significance.
This unique initiative will also be held in Armenia to mark 70th anniversary of The United Nations. On October 24, 2015 from 19:00 to 21:00 the blue light will be illuminated temple of Zvartnots.
In 2000 UNESCO added Zvartnots Temple together with churches in Echmiadzin (Vagharshapat) Saint Hripsime and Saint Gayane to the list of World Heritage Sites.
