PUPILS OF RUSSIAN SCHOOL WERE TOLD ABOUT THE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF MEGHRI

By the initiative of NCSO’s Syuniq’s regional service an open class was held in the Russian secondary school of Meghri. The deputy head of regional service Naira Hayrapetyan introduced the cultural heritage of Meghri, the architectural structure of the residence.

Pupils gave interesting questions about the fortress of Meghri. They asked Naira Hayrapetyan to tell about the military actions taken for the liberation of Meghri from the Persians by Russian military leader Kotlyarevski in 1813. She detailed about Russian military detachment’s exploitations, how they fought against Mahmad khan’s forces. She also mentioned about the significance and structure of the fortress of Meghri.

The purpose of the open class was not only the popularization of monuments but also the introduction of the role of the people of Meghri in Armenian-Russian relations.
