The Department of Management and Development of Cultural Resources and Collections of NCSO together with regional service of Vayots Dzor and «Gladzor University» Historical-Cultural Museum-Reservation held an intellectual competition entitled «Recognize cultural heritage of our region».
The competition was held at the secondary school of Khachik Community (Vayots Dzor) and was dedicated to historical monuments.
The aim of the competition was to popularize historical monuments of the region among schoolchildren and give them rich information. Competing teams «Noravanq» and «Ynkzarat» attended 7-8th grade students. The event was held in an atmosphere of intense and active participation of the teams. At intermissions the schoolchildren singed folk songs and danced. The competition was attended by students, teachers and community residents.
The winner was «Ynkzarat» team which members were awarded with certificates of appreciation and awards from NCSO. The school of the community was awarded with book “Cathedral of Ani» by Toros Toromanyan.
At the end of the competition the principle of the school Suren Tadevosyan, leading specialist of Education, Culture and Sport Department of Vayots Dzor Governor Avag Gabrielyan and head of regional service PHE of Vayots Dzor Melanya Dovlatyan made a speech. They thanked «Service for the Protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Museum Reservations» NCSO for organizing such a beautiful and informative event and stressed the importance of such events.
