OPEN CLASSES IN GARNI AND MARTUNI

As part of “European Heritage Days” program an open-class entitled “Heritage and communities” was held in “Garni” Historical-Cultural Museum-Reservation”. The No. 1 and No. 2 schools of Garni were acquainted with the history of the temple and the community. Head of the Museum-Reserve Aram Babayan spoke about the characteristic of the geographical location of Garni temple, architectural value and other cultural museums buildings.

On the initiative of the Regional Service PHE of Gegharkunik and Martuni town of Chambarak region was held an open class for high school students. It was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the independence of Armenia . History teacher of the school A. Muradyan also spoke about the history of the ”Red Eghtsi” (Old Getik, state index 4.63.10) church complex, the construction of the era and about the architectural features. A. Muradyan presenting the historical monument spoke about the activities of Mkhitar Gosh and noted that after the earthquake in the 13th century Gosh was moved to the village Gosh and here was built Goshavank.

The open class was attended by the deputy chief of the Regioanal Service PHE of Gegharkunik Hayk Jarahyan.

Answering the student’s questions H. Jarahyan noted that each monument plays an important role. The students expressed their desire to visit the complex and find out some more details.
