PUPILS TOUCHED UPON THE THEME OF THE CAPITAL’S MONUMENTS

“My lovely Yerevan” essay writing competition was held at school after Derenik Demirchyan by the initiative of NCSO’s department of usage of cultural values and marketing and NCSO’s Erevan regional service.

Before starting the competition, the participant pupils with the help of the workers of the regional services and teachers got detailed information about the monuments of the city, even got acquainted with different opinions about them.

Teachers and workers of regional services were surprised that pupils were so much informed and interested in Erevan’s monuments.

Three best essays were selected by the organizers of the contest and teachers of the school. Three authors had presented Komitas’s monument by Ara Harutyunyan, Sasuntsi Davit’s monument by Ervand Qochar and Alexander Tamanyan’s monument by Artashes Hovsepyan brilliantly, showing their historical and art values and the role of those individuals in the life of Armenians. The winners Elen Khachatryan, Syuzanna Harutyunyan and Ilona Ghazaryan got certificates of approval and as a gift were given a list of images of Metsamor cultural-historical reservations’ archaeological materials.
