The international conference entitled “Metsamorian Readings-2” will start in “Metsamor” Historical-Archeological Museum-Reserve on December 15, at 10:00. Then the temporary exhibition of “The Gold of Metsamor” which is implemented within the framework of “The Secret of the Land” program of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia will be opened at 12:00.
Ara Khzmalyan and Alfred Kocharyan, deputy ministers of the Ministery of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia and other officials will be presented at the opening of the exhibition.
It should be noted that one of the largest collections of archaeological gold in Armenia, discovered as a result of regular excavations from the 1960s to the present day, will be on display in the exhibition entitled “The Gold of Metsamor”.The pendants made of gold plate, beads, decorative buttons, necklace, fibulas and other artefacts are included in the collection. Museum artefacts made of agate, cornelian, sardonyx, amber are also on display in the exhibition. A one and a half turn spiral hairpin gold is very unique which has been found in Armenia.
The international conference entitled “Metsamorian Readings” is dedicated to the results of the excavations carried out in Metsamor archeological site in 2017-2021.
Ashot Piliposyan, sientific secretary of the “Protection Service” SNCO, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Pavel Avetisyan, Director of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of NAS RA, corresponding member of NAS RA, Hayk Avetisyan, Head of Chair, Doctor of History, Professor / Chair of Archaeology and Ethnography, will give a speech in the conference.
Pavel Shulgin from Russian Federation, Qshishtof Yakubyak from the Republic of Poland, Goderzi Narimanishvili from the Republic of Georgia, Zubaya Suraganova from the Republic of Kazakhstan will participate in the conference online.
Other participants will also give a speech at the conference.
