SNCO “Service for the Protection of the Historical Environment and Historical and Cultural Museums-Reservations” initiated a scientific, educational, informative program “Fortresses of Armenia” which will carry out activities of various content in the Capital and Marzes (regions) of the Republic throughout the year.
The Program starts on January 28, the Day of the Armenian Army. The goal is to preserve and popularize cultural heritage as well as to present the monument from a different point of view.
“Protection Service” SNCO presents posters of photographs, plans, ornaments of fortresses and citadels of the Republic of Armenia, Western Armenia, Cilicia, the Republic of Artsakh.
In the near future, information boards with images of our Fortresses will be installed in public places, metropolitan stations, and other places. It is planned to hold open lessons in secondary schools, study visits to the historical and cultural reservations “Fortress of Bjni”, “Dashtadem”, “Amberd”, “Smbataberd” where schoolchildren will get acquainted with the cultural heritage, glorious pages of medieval military art, the behavior of the Armenian knights, military affairs, field war games and the weapons. With the help of specialists, they will prepare replicas of medieval weapons.
